By Erin K. Costello “There were 3 cases of tetanus in California's population of 39,030,000 in 2015. The rate of incidence is 0.00000007686395081.” I’ll get back to this in just a moment. I’d like to first add to the claim above, two other statements, all of which are kind of true., to go along with it. There's a town in Brazil where if you live there, you will most likely grow mammary glands, and even fully functional ones at that. Nearly 100% of the town's residents grow breasts capable of lactating. Vatican City has one of the lowest, if not THE lowest, pregnancy rates in the world. Only about 0.4% of its residents are able to conceive and carry a child.

By Erin K. Costello *Trigger Warning* Description of Rape, type of rapes, and additional rape facts. There are many ridiculous claims routinely made by the anti-vaccination community, but there is one claim that is downright disgusting and horrific. This is the claim that vaccination is comparable to rape. The claim has even now evolved, likely due to the Kavanaugh senate confirmation hearings, into a comparison between doubting sexual assault victims and doubting victims of vaccine injury. The claim by many on the anti-vaccination side is that if we are expected to believe sexual assault victims when they speak of their sexual assaults, then we are to also believe parents of vaccine injured kids, or those who are vaccine injured themselves. Even though I doubt the absurdity of this claim is lost on many people, I’m going to go ahead and write a blog post about it anyways. |
